Marylhurst University Food Drive & Service Activity
Marylhurst University will be holding a campus-wide food drive throughout the rest of December and January. Please bring non-perishable food to drop-off baskets located in BP John, the Book Store, the Marylhurst Library and Flavia Hall. If you would like to contribute a cash donation, (the Oregon Food Bank’s greatest need) please bring your donation to Amanda Baker, Marylhurst Service Program Coordinator, in Marian Hall Room 131.
To celebrate the food drive together, you are invited to participate in some service repacking food at the Oregon Food Bank Re-pack Center! (See details below.) Please e-mail email@example.com if you are interested in signing up. Space is limited, so sign up soon!

Getting to OFB-West
Oregon Food Bank- West is located at 1870 NW 173rd Ave. (Click here for directions.)
Parking:Parking is very limited at OFB West and parking lots of the adjacent businesses are private. Oregon Food Bank can accommodate visitors in our parking lot which immediately surrounds the west and north of our building, parallel spaces on the south side of 169th Drive (just to the north of our building), and on the street along 173rd Drive. TriMet: The #89 Bus stops near OFB-West. Please visit trimet.org for schedules.
For safety reasons, be sure to wear sturdy closed-toed/closed heeled shoes. Open-toed/heel shoes and high heels are not allowed. Volunteers will not be able to participate without proper footwear.Please encourage all volunteers to dress appropriately for volunteering. Layers are recommended.
Oregon Food Bank has a zero tolerance theft policy.
Minimum age is 6 years old. Unfortunately, this requirement is not flexible Youth Release forms are required for all youth under 18 years. No food, beverage, gum or candy may be consumed in the volunteer work areas. Please do not attend if you feel sick or have a cough, runny nose, flu-like symptoms, open wounds, or food born illnesses.The tasks involve standing, squatting, lifting and pulling. We can accommodate most physical limitations, please let me know if you have any special needs.

We are able to provide tours during your shift for groups that have never visited the Oregon Food Bank. A tour is a wonderful way to connect your actions as a volunteer to the greater purpose of the Oregon Food Bank. There will be tour led by a volunteer every evening and weekend shift. Usually this will be done during the middle of your shift as a break.
